ELECS Logistics is a proposed platform - currently in development - for electric freight corridors, provincial logistics hubs, and cold-chain infrastructure in Burundi. The concept includes a planned five-hub network, electric trucks, charging, cold and dry storage, packaging, digital tracking, and first-/last-mile SME integration. Nothing described here is operational today; we are seeking anchor customers and development partners.

The challenge

Burundi's productive economy is held back by costly, fragmented, and emissions-heavy logistics, weak cold-chain coverage, and post-harvest losses. A coordinated electric-logistics and cold-chain platform is designed to reduce these costs and losses - but requires feasibility work, financing, land, permitting, and anchor-customer validation before it can be built.

No. ELECS Logistics is a proposed platform in development. The hubs, fleet, cold rooms, and corridors are not operational. We are at the concept and development stage and are seeking anchor customers and partners.

Where would the hubs be located?

The concept proposes a five-hub network (Bujumbura, Gitega, Burunga, Buhumuza, Butanyerera). Locations are proposed and subject to feasibility, land, permitting, and financing.
